Auditions

The Columbia Summer Winds uses traditional concert band instrumentation as follows:

piccolo

flute

oboe

English horn

e-flat clarinet

b-flat clarinet

alto clarinet

bass clarinet

bassoon (contrabassoon)

alto sax (soprano sax)

tenor sax

bari sax

trumpet (cornet)

French horn

trombone (bass trombone)

euphonium (baritone)

tuba

string bass

percussion

If you play any of these instruments, you should contact our conductor, Andrew Pease, to schedule an audition.  Auditions this year are on May 26 and 28 from 7-9pm.  You will be asked to prepare 2 minutes of music that shows off your best playing, and to sight-read passages from the upcoming summer's repertoire.  Please feel free to contact us any time of year, and don't be intimidated by the audition process: we want you to play!
